  3. Inspection and monitoring of the Divisions and District level administration
  4. Organising training and capacity building for the staffs of Divisions, Districts and Sub-Divisional offices
  5. E-governance projects in the areas of general administration
  6. Creation of New Districts and Sub-Divisions
  7. Creation, improvement and maintenance of the network of State Bhawans and Circuit Houses
  8. “State Protocol” Matters
  9. “State Guests” Matters
  10. Order of Precedence for State Functions
  11. Relevant matters relating to National Flag and National Anthem
  12. State Ceremonial Functions including Independence Day and Republic Day celebrations, State Mourning, State Funerals, Reception of VIPs, etc.
  13. Preparation of Annual Holiday List and Holidays under N.I. Act. for the Govt. of Assam
  14. Matters relating to the Directorate of Sainik Welfare, Assam
  15. Housing facilities for the Ministers, Government Officers and Staff subject to the provisions under the relevant rules administered by General Administration Department

Services Provided:

  1. Providing support for infrastructure and functioning of office of the Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Sub-Divisional Officers, Assam Bhawans/ Houses
  2. Providing manpower to the offices of Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Sub-Divisional Officers, Assam Bhawans/ Houses
  3. Payment of salary, allowances, bills, pensions and GPF advance to the staffs to the offices of Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Sub-Divisional Officers, Assam Bhawans/ Houses
  4. Capacity building of the staff of the offices of Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Sub-Divisional Officers, Assam Bhawans/Houses
  5. Support for construction and maintenance of Circuit Houses/ Guest Houses
  6. Sanction against Grants-in-aids
  7. Gallantry Award against necessary proposals, etc
  8. Allotment of Govt. Quarters to Hon’ble Ministers, Sr. Officers and Staffs of Assam Secretariat Employees
  9. Allotment of rooms at Assam Bhawans/Houses, Circuit Houses
